AstraCloud Panel

A cPanel alternative that runs more than PHP

If you are pricing up a cPanel or WHM renewal, two questions decide it: what the licence costs as you grow, and whether the panel can host what your customers are actually building.

The licensing question

cPanel is licensed per server with pricing that scales by how many accounts are on it. That is workable when margins are wide, and it is the first thing that stops adding up for a small host growing slowly. AstraCloud Panel is licensed per server. Adding a customer does not change what you pay, so your first account and your hundredth cost the same in licensing: nothing.

The one that matters more: what can it host?

A traditional panel is built around PHP and MySQL. That was the whole web once. Today a client arrives with a Next.js front end, an Express API and a Postgres database, and a PHP-shaped panel has no answer — so the work goes to a hand-administered VPS, or to a foreign platform. AstraCloud Panel runs Node.js, Python, Django, Ruby, Go, Java, .NET, Rust, Deno, Bun and Elixir as managed services with their own domains and certificates, alongside the PHP and WordPress hosting you already sell.

What you would give up

Worth saying plainly. cPanel has two decades of ecosystem: WHMCS integrations, migration scripts, staff who already know WHM, and a plugin for almost everything. AstraCloud Panel is younger. If your business depends on a particular cPanel plugin, or on hiring people who already know it, that is a real cost and you should weigh it. What you get instead is per-server licensing, modern runtimes, and support in your own language and time zone.

Moving across

The panel migrates accounts from an existing setup one at a time — files, databases, email, DNS and cron — so you can move a handful, look at them properly, and carry on when you are satisfied. Nothing changes for a visitor until you change the DNS.

What is in the panel

Websites and domains

  • Unlimited domains, subdomains and parked domains per account
  • A full DNS zone editor, with the panel running its own nameservers
  • Free Let’s Encrypt certificates, issued and renewed automatically
  • A drag-and-drop website builder, and one-click WordPress
  • Per-site PHP version switching, from 7.4 through 8.4

Applications, not just PHP

  • Node.js, Python, Django, Ruby, Go, Java, .NET, Rust, Deno, Bun and Elixir
  • PHP and Laravel, served from the framework’s own public/ directory
  • Import a project straight from GitHub and it builds, starts and gets a URL
  • Push-to-deploy webhooks, build logs and per-project environment variables
  • Docker containers, a browser terminal and real SSH key management

Databases

  • MySQL, with phpMyAdmin signed on for you
  • PostgreSQL and MongoDB, both with a browser data explorer
  • Remote access you can switch on per database
  • Database dumps included in the account backup

Email

  • Mailboxes, aliases, forwarders and autoresponders
  • Webmail, plus SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up with the domain
  • Spam filtering and per-mailbox quotas

Running it as a business

  • Reseller packages, customer accounts and per-feature limits
  • A storefront with invoicing, and eSewa and Khalti for Nepali customers
  • Account-wise and domain-wise backups, restorable component by component
  • Suspension that still lets a customer sign in and pay to get back online

Operations

  • Live CPU, memory, disk and bandwidth figures per account
  • ModSecurity with the OWASP core rule set, and ClamAV scanning
  • Firewall rules, a reverse proxy manager and raw log access
  • Migration in from an existing panel, account by account

Questions

What is AstraCloud Panel?
A web hosting control panel: the interface you and your customers use to run websites, email, databases and applications on a Linux server. It does the job cPanel/WHM or Plesk does, and it is built and supported from Kathmandu.
Can I run my own hosting business on it?
Yes — that is what the licence is for. You get reseller packages, customer accounts, per-feature limits, invoicing and a storefront, so you can sell hosting under your own brand on your own server.
Which operating systems does it install on?
Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04, on a clean server. The installer sets up nginx, MySQL, PHP-FPM, the certificate tooling and the panel itself in one command.
Does it support more than PHP?
Yes, and it is the main practical difference from a traditional panel. Node.js, Python, Django, Ruby, Go, Java, .NET, Rust, Deno, Bun and Elixir applications are first-class: each gets a managed service, a domain and HTTPS. You can also import a project from GitHub and have it build and deploy itself.
Can I move from cPanel without downtime?
The panel migrates accounts one at a time, so you can move a few, check them, and carry on. Nothing changes for a visitor until the DNS is changed, and that stays your call.
Is support available in Nepali?
Yes. Support is in Nepali and English, from people in the same time zone as you.
